Jun 29: Relativism is true, because of diversity


Often relativists will say that because of so many differant views about truth, that the only real truth is relativism. In their minds this sloves the hard work of picking the real truth, and living up to it. However, they still embrace many things as objective truths, such as murder, rape, stealing from poor people, womens rights, abortion, aninmal rights, etc. If you attack any one of those then will become upset. Thus they are only relativists with Christian truths, and not with their own truths. One of the supports they claim is "many truths"

Defeating "many truths"

  •    If half of the class gets an answer wrong on a test it does not mean there is no right answer.
  • People disagree about many things in life, some times they are both wrong, or only one is wrong.  Disagreement does not mean there is not a correct answer.  Am I wrong???
  • Disagreement means one and one thing disagreement, it is not a truth claim.
  • Is murder for fun, or rape, sometimes right?
  • Is burning Jews in ovens right or wrong?
